Thank you for letting us know your decision. We confess that we're a bit surprised (and disappointed) that you "cannot accept your correspondence for publication", and we're hoping you could tell us why you decided not to publish it. One reason we're surprised is that we submitted the above note as one half of a pair of correspondences (the other was JCO/2007/151951). Since both correspondences dealt with errors in papers appearing in JCO that used related approaches, we had submitted our notes as a set. The other was accepted 2 weeks ago. Here, we thought we had identified and documented several serious errors in a JCO publication, which we were seeking to address. Did you think that our argument was flawed, and that the intitial paper was correct? Did you think that the problems identified were too minor to merit concern? Did you think that our paper was unclear? Did the initial authors respond in such a way that you judged our concerns to be moot? We'd really like to know. Thanks in advance for any help you can give us. Sincerely, Keith A Baggerly
