Next-Generation Clustered Heat Map (NG-CHM) Detailed Overview

The Next-Generation Clustered Heat Map (NG-CHM) Viewer is a dynamic, interactive graphical environment for exploration of clustered or non-clustered heat map data in a web browser. For a basic introduction to clustered heat maps, their components and uses, please see our Introduction to Clustered Heat Maps.

The key components of an NG-CHM are:

A data type may optionally be given to the labels on either axis. For example, the row labels may be specified as gene labels, probe ids, metabolite names, and so on. Specifying a label type will add additional entries, such as link outs to related resources, to the Viewer's label popup menus.

NG-CHM Viewer

The NG-CHM Viewer is an interactive web tool that enables deep exploration of the patterns and associations in NG-CHMs. It can be used standalone or embedded in other tools and webpages.

Key features of the NG-CHM Viewer include:

Tutorial Videos

This short video (less than three minutes) briefly summarizes the key features of the NG-CHM viewer.

This playlist of more detailed tutorial videos will help you understand the key features of NG-CHMs in more detail and get up to speed quickly.

NG-CHM Builders

Creating NG-CHMs, as well as some computationally-intensive modifications (such as re-clustering), are the responsibility of the NG-CHM Builders. We support a variety of builders focussed on different types of user. For more information, use the navigator on the main NG-CHM page.

Latest Information

We post blog articles and summaries of the latest NG-CHM updates at our NG-CHM Website.
